The lockdown happened.

Some bonds only got stronger

The caffeine addiction, as chronicled by social media

There is one thing we cannot live without. That is a daily, sometimes a double daily, dose of coffee. If it's not within reach, the day starts out bleak and painful. Coffee has kept us warm, sane, and charged during the lockdown. Nothing made us happier than all the new coffee recipes that have emerged over quarantine and actually having the time to try them. So we have rounded up the coffee crazes that took over quarantine and our social media feeds.

Step 1: Combine 2 tablespoons granulated instant coffee, 1/2 tablespoon sugar, and 2 tablespoons hot water in a medium bowl. (You can use up to 2 tablespoons of sugar for a sweeter drink.)

Step 2: Whip by hand or with a mixer. PS: if you are whipping by hand, be prepared for a long haul and an arm workout.

Step 3: Continue mixing until the mixture turns from foamy to frothy to creamy. Stiff peaks is probably another term you heard take-over the beginning of the first lockdown. If you were unsure of what it meant before, we were talking about coffee.

Step 4: Spoon the fluffy mixture over your choice of milk in a glass filled with ice. Your choice on the cold milk, warm it up with steamed milk for the colder days and serve.
